A few months ago, I moved to Austin knowing only one thing: it's one of the live music capitals of the world. I didn't know a single person here. Started from absolute zero: no contacts, no idea of the scene, no plan beyond taking my camera, starting this blog, and building an A&R career from scratch. Why is music journalism needed in Austin? Unlike Nashville or LA, A&Rs just aren't in the bars in Austin. There is undeniable talent, but no clear or path for musicians to do this full time. My blog is part of the solution.
